This course is a survey of American history from the end of the Civil War to the present. Reconstruction, industrialization, urbanization, immigration, Western development, the Progressive Movement, the growth of American globalism, the New Deal and its subsequent emulators and challengers, the Cold War, and the Civil Rights Movement are among the themes highlighted in the course.
