Application Steps

Steps to apply Online

  1. Submit an Online Application
    1. Go to the HIU website: www.hiu.edu
    2. Click on:
      arrow  Admissions  arrow  Apply Now  arrow  Create an Account
    3. Complete and submit the eight step application*
      *Application fee will be waived with proof of Military Service (step 2). Save your application and log out prior to submitting application fee.
  2. Proof of Military Service
    • Veterans: Provide copy of DD-214
    • Active Duty: Provide copy of LES

  3. Your Academic Coach will be in touch with you to help gather your remaining application items:
  4. Statement of Purpose essay
  5. Transcripts
    • Official High School Transcripts (if less than 12 college units)
    • All Official College and Military Transcripts

If applying to a graduate program your Academic Coach will provide additional application items for your particular program.
