Each Spring, the Rose B. and Edgar B. McReynolds Faculty Excellence Award is presented to a HIU faculty member that embodies teaching and learning excellence, as identified by the HIU community. This year, Andrew Paine, Assistant Professor of Business and Management, was chosen to receive this high honor.
The award was presented to Professor Paine by Dr. Paul Alexander, HIU’s Vice President for Academic Affairs, during the spring Honors Convocation chapel. Upon the announcement, Paine received a standing ovation from his colleagues as well as the 2017 graduating class.
In the nominations, one student noted, “Professor Paine is friendly and helps each individual student as needed. Accounting is not easy, but Professor Paine’s positive and fun personality make students look forward to going to his accounting class!” Other students described him as “patient,” “helpful,” “approachable,” and “cool.”
Congratulations, Andrew Paine!
