About the Adult Ministry Pastor: Hills Church seeks a team-oriented Adults Ministries Pastor to support all of our Adult Ministries' initiatives. This person will serve on the Executive Lead Team and will provide support for our Pastoral team by focusing on helping people move from unconnected attendees to fully committed followers of Jesus who are connected at Hills Church and who regularly serve, give, and actively participate in the mission and vision of the church.

Application Requirements:
The Adult Ministry Pastor's Responsibilities Include: Oversight of Groups and Community (60%) | Our Groups and Community teams are responsible for ensuring the congregation connects with one another and builds community through a strong, healthy, and growing small group ministry. Works alongside the Groups Coordinator and functions as the overall leader of our Groups and Community ministry by developing a solid core team that fosters community involvement and spiritual growth throughout the congregation. Casts a compelling and motivating vision for Groups and Community involvement. Recruits develop, lead, and multiply Christ-centered Group leaders and volunteers through relational investment, training, and ongoing support. Creates and maintains an annual plan that ensures continuous improvement and growth of small group involvement and discipleship. Identifies, develops, and selects group curriculums and other group study materials. Strategizes and implements significant connecting events, on both a church-wide and community outreach level, to promote group life across all areas of Hills Church. Oversight of Care & Outreach (40%) | Our Care & Outreach teams are responsible for connecting people to regular involvement in our various care programs and groups - while also mobilizing people for regular involvement in local and global compassionate outreach. Work alongside the Care and Outreach team to develop church-wide strategies surrounding the compassion and outreach engagement of the church, including communication campaigns, connecting events, mission trips, serve days, and other events via an annual plan. Contribute to the overall care and outreach infrastructure, always looking for ways to enhance the efficiency and impact of systems. Develop connections between the church and local businesses, other local pastors, and government entities, and invest in local outreach partnerships and relationships. Develop strategies, structures, systems and an overall plan for our engagement in local and global missional outreach as a church. Be available for counseling, prayer, and other congregational pastoral care activities (funerals, weddings, baptisms, etc.). Perform other pastoral duties as assigned by the Executive Pastor Hills Church BaptismWhat You Bring: The following describes many of the characteristics of the ideal candidate for the Adult Ministries Pastor: Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and/or seminary 5+ years of full-time vocational ministry leadership Relevant experience in leading discipleship ministries in a local church setting Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must have good organizational skills - able to manage multiple projects Must be able to multi-task with excellent time management Expert level written and verbal communication skills Strong interpersonal skills Ability to communicate persuasively and compassionately both orally and in writing Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment Ability to connect and work well with many different personality types Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability Ability to make sound, critical decisions under pressure Ability to lead and develop teams Ability to perform essential functions of this job successfully: bend, stoop, reach, carry, sit (for long periods), stand, walk, and use hands Personal Characteristics & Qualifications A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Strives to meet qualifications for biblical leadership (1 Timothy 3 & Titus 1) Evidence of a flourishing relationship with Jesus; exhibits the Fruits of the Spirit (Gal 5) He or she and their spouse are committed to prayer, the Word, the church, and each other Confidential, helpful, cheerful, diplomatic, caring, and positive attitude at all times A self-starter with energy, drive, passion, and initiative Exhibits a heart of compassion, is trustworthy, and a humble servant leader Maintains a healthy balance between ministry and family Commitment to His Church through maintaining regular attendance at worship services, giving, and demonstrating active participation at Hills Church Strong theological orientation that is aligned with Hills Church Hills Church CommunityWhat it's Like to Live in El Dorado Hills, CA: Hills Church is located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, and 25 miles east of Sacramento, the capital city of California. The community is one of the best places to live and raise a family in the state of California. The area schools are some of the strongest in the state, both scholastically and athletically. People move here to raise families, the location, and terrific weather! A wide variety of recreational opportunities abound with nearby Folsom Lake, where hiking, biking, fishing, and water-skiing are prevalent along seventy-seven miles of shoreline.
