DANA POINT, CA :: On Monday, May 23, Hope International University held its 10th Annual Golf Tournament to raise funds for student scholarships and departmental programs. This year's tournament raised a record $55,235, surpassing the $50,000 mark for the fourth consecutive year. Since HIU’s inaugural golf fundraiser in 2007, the event has raised a cumulative total of over $400,000.
“Our golf sponsors and donors make a significant contribution,” reports Troy Gardner, HIU’s Director of Church Relations & Development. “Hundreds of well-deserving students have benefited over the ten years of this signature event, not to mention the countless lives those students and alumni have touched.”
Special thanks to all of the 2016 sponsors whose significant contributions helped make this event successful, especially our course sponsor, University Trustee Glenn Carpenter. Additional sponsors included Church Development Fund (CDF), Arthur J. Gallagher & Company, Christ’s Church of the Valley San Dimas, Direct Print & Promotions, First Christian Church Huntington Beach, Journey Christian Church, Payne Janitorial, Peter C. Foy & Associates, Proline Electric, The Wright Image, and The Refinery Christian Church in Goodyear, Arizona.
The 2016 participants included University administrators, faculty, staff, as well as pastors, church leaders, community members and HIU supporters. Golfers enjoyed spectacular coastal views playing the Monarch Beach Golf Links course in Dana Point, culminating in an awards dinner at Cedar Creek Inn in San Juan Capistrano.
