On September 28, 2013, Hope International University will host its annual event to celebrate the HIU community and donors, the Spirit of Hope Celebrity Concert & Awards Gala. The evening will begin with a reception with gourmet appetizers and then move into the Grand Ballroom of the Disneyland Hotel for an elegant meal and live entertainment. This year’s featured entertainer is violinist Roddy Chong.

Considered to be one of the world’s premier violinists, Chong has toured with award-winning artists like Shania Twain and Celine Dion. He has also performed with Kelly Clarkson, Elton John, Jars of Clay, Brian McKnight and countless other musicians and bands. Today Chong spends his time playing for and speaking to organizations, teams, groups, and conferences around the world. Even with this busy schedule, he still finds time to tour with bands like Trans Siberian Orchestra and Kevin Costner & Modern West. 

In addition to Chong, the 2013 Spirit of Hope will showcase the talents of the Archie Thompson Quartet and Tim Kepler. Guests will also receive an update on the University from HIU President, Dr. John L. Derry
