MAY 6, 2015 :: Tammy Gallegos Daughtry, Founder and CEO of CoParenting International, is the newest member of HIU’s Ministry Hall of Fame. Tammy and her husband Jay were inducted for their successful ministry efforts to adults and children traumatized by divorce. HIU President John Derry, along with Steve Alley, Chair of the Church Ministry Department, presented the honor at a ceremony and luncheon held on campus.

Since its establishment in 2004, CoParenting International has been providing resources to address the critical impact of co-parenting on children of divorce. Through seminars, evening classes, e-newsletters and one-on-one sessions, the organization has helped thousands of families. She and Jay live in Nashville, Tennessee, with their blended family that includes four children, ages 13-25.

“I worked with Tammy back when she was a student at Pacific Christian College in the late 1980s,” Alley recalled. “I was the Dean of Students, and she was our ASB Social Director. She has always been a powerhouse of energy for the Lord! She successfully organizes amazing events, and always adds a spice of fun and professionalism to whatever she does.”

Tammy graduated with a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in May 2010. In 2014, she and her husband Jay co-founded the Center for Modern Family Dynamics -- a counseling center committed to supporting single parents, step parents as well as individuals and couples. Jay and Tammy are one of the leading “counseling duos” working with step couples as a co-therapy team and they are seeing very positive outcomes for couples who are considering remarriage or are in a remarried family.

“Tammy exceeds our dreams for Hope alums. She is nationally recognized for her work with parents and families of divorce, women’s ministry, as well as her other career in event productions. She definitely makes us all proud!” remarked Alley. 

HIU’s Campus Ministries Director, Bryan Sands, describes Tammy as “an inspiration to everyone she comes in contact with. Even though she may be one of the busiest people I know, she still makes time for students, staff, and faculty. She has encouraged our students as a guest chapel speaker, and even stays connected with a number of them. I am extremely impressed with her heart for the Lord, dedication to her profession, and the example she lives. Tammy’s induction into the ‘Ministry Hall of Fame’ is well-deserved. The Daughtrys truly are a couple who will continue to make a positive impact on the world for God’s Kingdom!”
