For the third consecutive summer, the Southern California Chapter of Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) converged on HIU’s Fullerton campus for a week of intensive training. CEF is a Bible-centered organization whose purpose is to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel, disciple them, and establish them in a local church.
A group of over 50 students are led and trained by staff in a 40+ hour program called Christian Youth In Action (CYIA) in which they learn to effectively share the Gospel message with children through Bible lessons, songs, memory verses and skits. The young volunteers then serve in various summer ministries, with 5-Day Club® as their main focus. Participants usually teach several clubs a week during the summer, reaching tens of thousands of children around the world.
“In the first two days of ministry we have reached 296 children with the Gospel,” shares Missionary State Director, Bill Gerhardt, concerning the success that comes forth from these summer trainings. “Many have responded and trusted in Jesus Christ for salvation.”
