4th Annual Golf Marathon Fundraiser 2010
HIU’s 4th annual Golf Marathon Fundraiser took place again this year at Heartwell Golf Course in Long Beach, CA. The event brought in over $32,000 for student scholarships and departmental programs. Almost $100,000 has been raised since the first 100 Hole Golf Marathon was held in 2007.
This year’s sponsors included: Del and Ann Harris (Title Sponsor); Bill Avery/Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. (Hole in One Sponsor); Johnson Controls; Farmers & Merchants Bank; Carl Camp/Eclectic Associates; Church Development Fund; and Bon Appetit.
The tournament is non-scoring and required golfers to play 3 tee shots per hole for the first 33 holes and 1 tee shot on the 34th hole for a total of 100 holes. Chuck Puckett, University Trustee was the top fundraiser for the fourth consecutive year raising $5,000.
