Faith, education and international travel combine from January 6-15, 2010, as HIU professors Dr. Joseph Grana, Dr. David Matson and Dr. Curtis Holtzen lead a team of 23 on a 10-day tour to Israel. The group includes 5 HIU students and Hope’s own HR Coordinator, Wende Holtzen. The itinerary includes visits to all the significant sites in Israel such as Bethlehem, Jerusalem, Nazareth and the Sea of Galilee. “We will take a boat across the Sea of Galilee, swim in the Dead Sea and have baptisms in the Jordan River,” remarked professor Grana.

Dr. Bryson Arthur, President of Nazareth Evangelical Theological Seminary, will be meeting with Dr. Matson to discuss an agreement which will allow our students to study there for an interterm class and/or a semester of study and travel.

In addition to the scheduled tour, Dr. Grana will be staying a few extra days to conduct training with some Arab-Israeli pastors and their wives in the Galilee area. “On January 17 I will have the privilege to preach at Turan, a village in northern Israel which is mainly Moslem,” added Grana. Dr. Grana is a Professor of Biblical Studies and has been teaching at HIU since 1987.
