Advice to prospective students?
In today’s fast-paced world, making the decision and commitment to go back to school can seem overwhelming and anxiety-provoking. My advice and encouragement is to see it as an investment in yourself, as a pathway to achieving your goals and dreams, which for many people can mean the realization of something they might not have thought possible. It is such an honor and blessing to walk alongside students who have made that investment and realized those dreams. The online programs, genuine caring and dedication of staff and faculty and flexibility of courses make pursuing a degree at Hope worth it! As a Hope graduate, I can wholeheartedly say that I received wonderful support and encouragement along with all the tools I needed to reach my educational goals and achieve my dreams.

How do you spend your free time?
I love to read, going to the movies, concerts, restaurants, spending time with friends, playing the piano, and volunteering with the care ministry at my church.

Advice to prospective students?
A degree program is so much more than just earning your diploma you will be amazed at how much you grow as an individual both personally and spiritually.  The relationships you will build with professors, fellow students, and your coach at HIU will help you be successful in your program. We are all here to support you and see you achieve your goals. I absolutely love working with students and seeing them accomplish great things. When things get challenging I commend students who reach out for help when they need it. As a college student once myself I know that great solutions often come from working them out with others who care about you and can lift you up. I often tell students to break things up into smaller more manageable parts whether it means taking it course by course or breaking down an assignment into pieces to work on a little at a time. This strategy will help you to chip away at the path to your goal without feeling so overwhelmed. I look forward to being with you on your journey all the way to graduation!

How do you spend your free time?
In my free time I love to travel, go hiking, practice yoga, try new recipes and spend time with my family and friends. My curiosity about the world keeps me on the go to discover new places, new restaurants, and experience different cultures through travel. I have been blessed to have had the opportunity to visit England, Italy, and more recently Puerto Rico and hope to travel more in the future. I also enjoy history and make it a point to visit at least a few museums on my travels, locally, and enjoy reading historical fiction.

Advice to prospective students?
I tell students to follow their dreams, work hard and persevere. If you want something bad enough you will find a way to achieve your goal. I encourage students to let God guide them and they will accomplish more than you ever imagined. The joy of my position is being a part of students’ successes. It is amazing to see my students cross the stage at graduation and know I have been a part of their journey at Hope International University.

How do you spend your free time?
On my free time I enjoy my hobby of photography. I’ve exhibited my photos in art galleries in the Long Beach Art District for the past 10 years. I have experience as a wedding and portrait photographer, which gives me great joy to capture beautiful images of people in special moments of their lives. I also enjoy spending time in nature by camping, hiking, or running.  I love to travel and last year I had the opportunity to go to Spain, Italy and France.  I look forward to many future trips around the globe.

Advice to prospective students?
Preparation is key. Whether you are fresh out of high school or going back to school, one needs to be prepared and ready for the new and exciting challenges ahead. Receiving your degree is more than just the next step to take; it is a true challenge that will leave you a better person, and one ready to take on the road ahead. Our online programs are taught by professors working in their field of study, which helps the student truly be prepared for what lies ahead. As a graduate of Hope, I left confident, encouraged, and prepared. I am here to help you reach your goals, so that when you graduate from Hope, you too will have a drive that can and will take you anywhere you want to go.

How do you spend your free time?
I love to stay active! I play multiple sports throughout the year, as well as coach multiple sports at local high schools. I enjoy reading, running, cooking, coffee… lots of coffee, movies, and music. The best part about my free time is spending it with my three boys: Braeden (4), Kaleb (2), and my husband, Nate. We love to play games and go camping—anything that will keep us outside!
