Certificate in Biblical Studies
Program Overview
The Certificate in Biblical Studies is awarded to students who complete designated groups of courses in a focused area of study. Students may take Certificate courses to fulfill degree requirements or simply for personal enrichment.
The Certificate in Biblical Studies includes 18 units of training in how to read and study the Bible, including use of in-print and electronic tools for better understanding; study of the Old and New Testaments, and their historical context, literary forms, content, and practical applications for contemporary life; and equipping for servant leadership in the church and beyond.
Course Sequence
The faculty has designated the first six courses of the Christian Ministry Major as the "Biblical Studies Certificate." This 18-unit course sequence provides a solid biblical foundation for life and ministry. Studies include tools and principles for uncovering the rich meaning of God's written word.
