History
The School of Professional Studies (SPS) was established in the 1993-94 academic year (then known as the EXCEL degree completion program). Now in our 13th year of instruction, SPS has grown to serve students in Fullerton and Corona, and offers all degree programs 100% online. Over 750 adult students have earned their degrees in Christian Ministry, Human Development, and Management.
Recent years have witnessed an increasing demand for educational programs for adults who have spent less than two years in institutions of higher learning. Therefore, in 2006 the faculty and staff moved beyond degree completion to transform SPS into a full service School for adults. A new General Education Core and General Elective offerings enable students to complete entire degree programs, from start to finish, at SPS. And the addition of an online Intercultural Studies Major in 2007 expands the School's ability to serve. The School of Professional Studies plans to build on this foundation by creating additional onsite and online degree completion educational opportunities for adults.
