MBA in Non-Profit Management

Program Overview

As the demand for managers and leaders with advanced education and training increases, the Management Department continues its legacy of being at the forefront of reality-based curriculum and degree development.

The 36-unit MBA - with an emphasis in Non-Profit Management prepares men and women with knowledge of organizational behavior and management theory, community-based organizations, and community/sector networking and partnerships. The Non-Profit Management focuses on leaders and managers who are instrumental in their community, especially in environments that are international, diverse and complex. The program addresses value-based non-profits or non-governmental organizations. It is particularly useful for organizational administrators, non-profit entrepreneurs, church administrators, community leaders, or executives in religious non-profit organizations.

Three core objectives are stressed within the program.

  1. To promote strong ethics within a business environment.
  2. To implement sound decision-making practices from an ethical perspective that will benefit an organization.
  3. To foster spiritual development as a basis for a servant - leader character.

Students may begin the MBA Joint Program with Hope at any point in the year. The program is offered entirely online or on campus. The program may be completed within 18 - 24 months but not take more than six years.

Admission Requirements

Applicants seeking entry into the Master of Business Administration - Non - Profit degree program must submit the following:

  • Completed application form with non-refundable $75.00 fee. (fee waived for Hope alums)
  • Official transcript(s) from an accredited university or college confirming completion of an undergraduate degree and any completed graduate work. Applicants desiring to be considered for waiver or transfer or prerequisite courses must submit relevant transcripts indicating graduate level courses or undergraduate courses respectively with a satisfactory grade of B or better.
  • Two completed reference forms sent to the School of Graduate Studies Admissions office.
  • A statement of purpose approximately 250 words indicating your reasons for entering the program of choice.

Probationary acceptance may be granted if other factors give evidence of the applicant's ability to successfully complete a program. The probationary status will be removed when the student has successfully completed nine semester units with a 3.0 G.P.A. or better.

Graduation Requirements

The following criteria serves as the major program assessment tool for the MBA in Non - Profit Management, and comprises the following elements:

  • Successful completion of 36 units of prescribed coursework
