Online Courses
Hope Online is a virtual learning site that enables graduate students the opportunity to access courses through the Internet. Through our outsource partner, eCollege.com, students can access the classroom 24 hours a day, seven days a week at their convenience. Some degree programs offer fully online options through eCollege while other programs are a hybrid version of on campus and online delivery.
The following requirements are needed to participate in eCollege delivered courses:
eCourses
The School of Graduate Studies delivers education around the globe. Whether in South America, Asia, Africa, or North America, a graduate student at Hope can earn their degree with the same individualized attention, class interaction, academic integrity and success as those students who attend courses on campus. eCourses have video professor lectures, "real time" chat, discussion forums and assignment drop boxes to make one's learning experience as enjoyable and accessible as possible. The diversity of the student body also adds to the educational excellence of our graduate level courses making it a unique growth experience.
eCompanions
Online support sites, known as eCompanions, supplement all SGS campus-based degree programs. Each course is individually designed by the professor to extend the teaching and learning experience beyond the classroom. Professors may use the following to enhance their class by regularly facilitating:
- Communication via email, chat and threaded discussion;
- Online lectures and presentations;
- Readings and Internet links;
- Assignment/Document submission;
- Quizzes and learning assessments;
- Online gradebook;
- Live electronic whiteboard conferencing; and
- Library resources/access
