B.A. in General Social Science
The B.A. degree in General Social Science prepares students for graduate study and for various careers that build from the foundation of the interdisciplinary study of human behavior. Coursework in History, Psychology and Sociology is featured in the Major. Career pathways leading from the major include teaching, government service, law, and the helping professions. Social science learning is an effective tool that can be useful for helping achieve the mission of the Church.
Social Science learning is integrated with a Biblical view of society, humanity, and behavior, as a means of preparing graduates to effectively minister in people-related occupations. Internships in Human Services and Psychology, and fieldwork opportunities and teaching assistantships throughout the department expand the possibilities for Social and Behavioral Sciences Department students.
The B.A. degree in Social Science: Subject Matter Preparation for Secondary Teaching is very specifically designed to prepare students for entrance into the Single Subject Credential Program in Social Science at CSUF.
