B.A. in Liberal Studies

The Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies is a 124-unit degree that incorporates classes in English, Math, Science, History and Social Science, Human Development, Fine Arts, Physical Education, and Biblical Studies.

Recognizing the lasting impact of wellprepared education professionals in the Church and society, the Liberal Studies program offers students intellectual and cultural breadth as a strong foundation for becoming effective classroom teachers in the elementary setting.

To teach within the California public school system, after graduation, students would then attend a graduate level credential program in which they would study teaching methodology and complete a student teaching assignment. We have a well-crafted and flexible credential program at our School of Graduate Studies.

Students whose career goals include teaching at the secondary level (junior high or high school) are advised to pursue a degree within the specific subject area that will be taught such as English, Mathematics, or History. This can be done throughout contract programs and majors.
