9/15/10 Fullerton, CA - 27th Annual Fullerton Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast

Phil Downer, who currently serves as President of Discipleship Network of America (“DNA”), is the speaker for the 27th Annual Fullerton Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast. The Prayer Breakfast is patterned after the National Prayer Breakfast, which is held annually in Washington, D.C. with the intention to pray for our city, state and national leaders from a Christian perspective.

The Prayer Breakfast is scheduled for Wednesday, October 27, 2010, 7:30 AM. It is held at the Anaheim Park Hotel and is sponsored by a committee of local business and community leaders.

Downer has written and lectured extensively on the topic of trial practice and litigation. He is also a former machine gunner who served in Vietnam with the United States Marine Corps in 1967 and 1968. Downer is a popular speaker at men’s events, at couples events with his wife of 30 years, and at family conferences with their six children.

Fullerton Mayor Don Bankhead will bring greetings to those who are in attendance. Mayor Bankhead is the most senior member of the Fullerton City Council, having been first elected to his first four-year Council term in 1988. He previously served as Mayor in 2001-03, 1997-98, and 1991-92 and as Mayor Pro Term on 2005-06, 2000-01, 1990-91, 1993-94, and 1995-96.

Local leaders who will be included in the program include Fire Chief Wolf Knabe, Hope International University President John Derry, Eastside Christian School Administrator Kim Van Geloof, Lee Associates Administrator Bob Sattler, retired CSUF Faculty Maryalyce Jeremiah, and retired Ophthalmologist Bill Peloquin.
