05/16/06 Fullerton, CA - Jerre L. Stead, Chairman of IHS, Inc. to be Commencement Speaker at Hope International University

Jerre L. Stead, current Chairman of IHS, Inc. and former Chairman and CEO of Ingram Micro, will be Hope International University's commencement speaker on Saturday, May 20, 2006 at 10 a.m.

Mr. Stead became Chairman of IHS, Inc in 2000 and has led the company through its public offering in November 2005. He retired as Chairman and CEO of Ingram Micro in May of 2000, where he took the company public on Nov. 1, 1996. At that time, it was the largest IPO in history for a technology company. Under his leadership, Ingram Micro grew from an eight billion dollar company to a global 30 billion dollar company doing business in over 120 countries.

Mr. Stead has been on 29 corporate boards during his career and currently serves on the Board of Directors of Armstrong, Brightpoint Inc, Conexant, Mindspeed, Mobility, and IHS. He served as chairman of the National Electronic Manufacturers Association and the Center for Ethics and Values at Garrett Seminary. He also serves as chairman of the BAI and is on the Salk Institute Board.

He is a graduate of the University of Iowa as well as the Harvard University Advanced Management Program in Switzerland.

The commencement ceremony will take place in the Lawson-Fulton Student Center's Darling Pavilion, located on the north side of campus. This marks Hope's 81st commencement.
