02/28/06 Fullerton, CA - Hope International University Receives 10-Year Accreditation from Association for Biblical Higher Education
Hope International University is proud to announce the awarding of accreditation from the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE) on February 15, 2006. This noteworthy affiliation is a programmatic accreditation in Biblical Studies and Church Ministry through 2016.
Upon evaluation, the ABHE visiting team had several commendations of Hope's attributes, such as the academic preparation of faculty, university assessment efforts, faculty's exemplary commitment to ministry and cross-cultural missions, and an overall healthy organizational climate.
Hope's president, Dr. John Derry, explains, "We are very pleased to re-establish an affiliation with the ABHE. The encouraging report we received from the accreditation visit is evidence of the quality of our ministry and Biblical studies programs. We value our regional accreditation with the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, and regard this new relationship with the ABHE as an additional endorsement of our mission to serve the church and impact the world for Christ."
The ABHE provides many functions, including: 1) Promoting excellence among institutions and programs of biblical higher education through the process of accreditation, 2) Promoting cooperation among member and affiliate institutions and the larger higher education community, 3) Promoting the distinctives of biblical higher education to the higher education community, the church and society, and 4) Providing services that will stimulate excellence among administrators, board members, faculty, and students at member and affiliate institutions.
