Hope International University Receives WASC Approval for Two New Academic Programs
Hope has developed two groundbreaking academic programs with cutting edge delivery models that make Christian higher education available to people across the globe. The Western Association of Schools & Colleges (WASC), a regional accrediting body, has approved the proposals for the following new academic programs: an online Bachelor of Science degree in Intercultural Studies and an online Master of Arts degree in ministry.
“These programs represent two more ways in which we’re putting the ‘international’ in Hope International University,” says Dr. Chris Davis, Dean of the School of Professional Studies.
The online aspects of these programs make it convenient for students to take courses from their homes and offices. Overseas missionaries will greatly benefit from this program format, as well as any other individuals who prefer the convenience of online education.
The B.S. in Intercultural Studies is offered through the School of Professional Studies and is designed to develop and enhance cross-cultural ministry skills, increase the student's Biblical understanding, and prepare them for graduate studies. The M.A. in ministry is offered through the School of Graduate Studies and has four emphases that students may select from: Christian Leadership, Worship, Church Planting, and Intercultural Studies. The M.A. in ministry has been a premier program for years, with this year being the first that it is offered completely online.
