Hope Students Travel to South Korea

Photo - Hope Students Travel to South KoreaFrom May 21 to June 1, 2007, Hope students, staff, and faculty ventured to South Korea for two weeks to minister and serve with fellow Christians at our sister schools in Korea. The group of twenty-four PCC students, six graduate students, four faculty members and one member of the Fullerton community spent twelve days visiting our sister universities in the cities of Seoul, Pusan, and Mokpo.

Dr. Joseph Cho, Chair of the Music Department and HIU Chorale Director, facilitated the trip. Staff and faculty members Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Academic Affairs, Wende Holtzen, Adjunct Professor Ricky Terry, and Music Department Administrative Assistant, Ember Williams, also supervised the trip.

“The trip was planned with several goals in mind,” explains Williams. “One was to create a greater sense of unity among HIU Music majors and choir members, and to give undergraduate and graduate students an opportunity to build relationships with one another.”

Dong Seo University, Kosin University, and Seoul Christian University have worked closely with Hope for many years in our mission to develop servant leaders to impact the world for Christ. Each year Korean students from these universities attend Hope as part of a student exchange program. Korean students get to experience American culture while furthering their education. The recent trip to South Korea provided a similar experience for Hope students.
