Head Coach Victor Jennings-Santiago
Victor Jennings-Santiago begins his second year at the helm of both the Women’s and Men’s Volleyball programs at Hope International University.
In 2007, the Women’s Team missed out on the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Tournament for the first in three years. The Royals finished with an overall record of 6-19 and 3-17 in GSAC play. The highlight of the season was not even a won match but a won set. The Royals took a set from the NAIA’s #1 and eventual National Champion, Fresno Pacific, at their place. FPU lost only 11 sets all year.
The 2008 Men’s Team suffered through injury after injury and only managed a 5-17 record. The highlight of their season was sweeping Holy Names in both matches the two teams played.
Prior to taking over the head coaching reins, Jennings-Santiago served for two years as an Assistant Coach for both teams at Hope.
He serve as a coach for various high school and club teams in Hawaii prior to coming stateside for a new employment opportunity. The highlight of his club coaching was winning the Gold in the 2002 Junior Olympics Club Division- the first time ever for an 18 and under team from Hawaii.
Jennings-Santiago, who was born in Samoa but raised in Hawaii, has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Hawaii- Manoa.
