Head Coach Aaron Siefker
Aaron Siefker enters his third year as the Women’s Soccer Head Coach with lots of optimism for the 2008 season. Siefker returns 10 players from the 2007 squad, including two All-GSAC selections, that finished 5th at the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Tournament. The addition of 8 talented players provides the hope of the best season ever for Hope International Women’s Soccer.
Aside from a trip to the NCCAA Nationals in 2007, the Royals set program highs in overall wins with an 11-8-2 record and GSAC wins with a 3-6-1 record. During a four game winning streak, the Royals outscored their opponents 14-1. Their best win of the season was a 1-0 win against Vanguard at home.
Though 2006 ended with a 3-13-1 record (0-10 in the GSAC), the Siefker led Royals usually found themselves within striking distance with 9 of their 13 losses coming by two goals or less. The team’s biggest disappointments came in the form of two 1-0 double overtime losses including one to end the season against GSAC rival Biola. The ladies best outing of the season was a 7-0 win over Simpson.
Prior to Hope, Coach Siefker spent seven seasons as an assistant coach at Azusa Pacific. He also played midfield from 1994 through 1997 for APU. During his playing days, the Cougars had a record of 64-22-2. As an Orange County native, Siefker prepped at Sunny Hills High School.
Siefker, 30, graduated from Azusa Pacific with a Bachelor's in Political Science in 1998 and a Master’s in Education in 2002. He resides in Huntington Beach, CA.
