Steve Edgington, Vice President of
Academic Affairs, Dean of Pacific Christian CollegeSteven D. Edgington was appointed Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Pacific Christian College on February 20, 2004.
Dr. Edgington is a family man, a churchman, and an academician. He has been married for over twenty-five years to Teresa, an ESL teacher for the community college district. They have two daughters. They reside in Anaheim and have been active in Anaheim First Christian Church for twenty-five years. Steve has served the church in various capacities. Presently he is an adult teacher and an elder.
Dr. Edgington's education includes a B.A. in Social Science from Pacific Christian College, an M.A. in Social Science from California State University, Fullerton, and a Ph.D. in History from UCLA. For the past 24 years, first as an adjunct professor and then as a full time professor, he has taught history and social science at PCC.
Dr. Edgington's professional interests have led him on several trips to Zimbabwe for research on Christian missions in Africa. He has also led PCC students to Europe for educational and mission centered trips. He has also been active in the Conference on Faith and History, an organization of Christian historians. Recently he has resumed an interest in oral history, conducting interviews with prominent figures in California government and politics for the State Government Oral History Program. Several published volumes of his oral history interviews are held in the State Archives and by various university libraries.
Dr. Edgington has over thirty years' association with PCC/HIU, starting as a student in 1973, the first year on the Fullerton campus. He coached the PCC Women's Softball Team from 1989-2001, and in 1994 his team won the National Christian College Athletic Association National Tournament.
